Today was our last day in Jinja, we started our day going to church at Acacia Church. We were glad to be able to see our friends one more time before heading out to Kampala. Worshiping under the trees, with a cool breeze blowing, I could feel God there, holding us, strengthening us. Pastor Terry came up and gave us a big hug, knowing it was a hard day for us. All the amazing people who we call friends were there, Katie, Brad, Shana, Kelcey, Megan, Grace, Em, Emily…the new volunteers from Ekisa who we were blessed to meet Hannah, Stephanie and Emily…and some of the sweet children we have come to love with all our hearts Grace, Patricia, Joshie, Isaac and Ditte.
The songs the praise team sang really spoke to my heart…Oh Lord You have searched me,You know my way, even when I fail you, I know You love me…You are the pottier I am the clay. make me and mold me, this is what I pray….The more I seek You, the more I find you. The more I find You, the more I love You….Yegwe-gwe netaga. Nja-ya-nira gee Mukama. Yegwe-gwe netaga, Nyamba many nit wool. (You’re all I want, You’re all I’ve ever needed. You’re all I want. Help me know You are near)
Over and over, God has reassured my heart of His plans for us in Uganda. There is such a peace when we are here.
After church we headed back to the house and our driver Job was already there waiting on us….time to grab our bags, give hugs say our “see you laters” and cry on the way to Kampala. We’ll be staying with a friend of Kendra’s and then heading to Entebbe early in the morning for our first flight to London.
